Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick Released from Hospital After Chest Injury
Following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 26-22 victory over the Cleveland Browns, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was released from a local hospital on Monday night. He had undergone scans to assess a potential chest contusion sustained during the game.
The incident occurred early in the third quarter when Fitzpatrick made a crucial play, tripping up Browns’ running back Jerome Ford to prevent a potential 70-yard touchdown. Although initially appearing unharmed, Fitzpatrick later exited the game and did not return.
There is a sense of optimism regarding the 26-year-old’s availability for Week 3, where the Steelers are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the positive outlook. Both the Raiders and the Steelers currently hold a 1-1 record entering this upcoming contest.”
It was an eventful night for Fitzpatrick, who finished with six tackles and two passes defended, including a tipped DeShaun Watson pass on the game’s opening play which was intercepted by Alex Highsmith and returned for a touchdown.
