Warriors’ Draymond Green Set to Miss 4-6 Weeks Due to Ankle Injury

The Golden State Warriors are bracing for the absence of forward Draymond Green, who is expected to miss four to six weeks due to a left ankle sprain, as reported by Marc Spears of Andscape.

Green sustained the injury earlier this week during a pickup game held at Chase Center, the Warriors’ home arena.

“I dodged a bullet and learned that today by the way it’s [positively] reacting,” Green shared with Spears. “Even with an MRI, you don’t see the trend of it immediately. The swelling is down.”
The Warriors are set to kick off their training camp next Tuesday, with a five-game preseason schedule commencing on October 7 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The regular season for Golden State is slated to begin on October 24, with a matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
Draymond Green, at the age of 33, recently signed a lucrative four-year, $100 million contract extension in June. During the previous season, he played a vital role, featuring in 73 games and averaging 8.5 points per game — his best performance since the 2017-18 season. Green is expected to play a crucial part in the Warriors’ upcoming campaign, joining forces with the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and the newly acquired Chris Paul, obtained in a trade this July. The team has its sights set on clinching its fifth NBA championship since 2015.
